Think differently about supporting mental wellbeing
What is Mountain Therapy?
Mountain Therapy is an in-person and online counselling and psychotherapy practice specialising in supporting teenagers and younger adults. Mountain Therapy offers services tailored towards the unique challenges that younger people encounter at these stages of life. These challenges can include anxiety, depression, sexual or gender identity, low self-esteem, academic and career decisions, and family/social relationships. In addition to working with younger people, Mountain Therapy also provides specialised counselling for parents, including strategies to strengthen communication, improve family dynamics and support their child’s development. Mountain Therapy is an inclusive practice and an Ally to the LGBTQI+ community, assisting all people towards enhanced self-acceptance, positive self-image and improved mental wellbeing.
“Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting, so get on your way!”
- Dr Seuss

Yogi loves pats and cuddles - whether he’s sitting calmly beside you, offering a friendly paw, or just quietly lying down in the room, Yogi’s instinctive empathy and comforting nature offers a non-judgmental space for you to feel safe, grounded and loved.
Who is Bec Mountain?
Bec Mountain (she/her) has a passion for the wellbeing of younger adults, teenagers and parents. As a single mother of three young adult children, and a former high school educator, school counsellor and wellbeing leader, she has been actively involved for many years in supporting children and young adults to become the best versions of themselves, as well as helping parents navigate the journey of raising teenagers. Bec grew up in London, and her childhood enables her to understand the long-term impact of childhood and intergenerational trauma, providing trauma-informed care to her therapy practice.
Bec has a Masters of Counselling and Psychotherapy (accredited with PACFA), as well as a Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Secondary Education. Through her many years experience in both high schools and universities, she has worked with teenagers, young adults and parents to help transform their lives. She develops positive relationships and has supported individuals with a wide range of mental health and wellbeing concerns, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, career/academic decisions, gender identity, suicidal ideations and self-injuring, as well as parenting concerns. Bec believes that supporting mental health and overall wellbeing needs to be more creative and adaptive to an individual’s needs, bringing an authentic and empathetic nature to her sessions.
